Are you a not-for-profit organisation or a business looking for funding opportunities in Australia but unsure where to start looking? I promise you, you are not alone. Finding suitable grants can seem like a daunting process, similarly to finding a needle in a haystack. The good news is that there is plenty of support available and can take your organisation or business on a journey for growth and community impact.

Grant funding is available from various sources, including government (local/state/federal), not-for-
profit organisations, and private companies. My goal with this series of blogs, is to help you navigate
the grant finding process.

This week, I am sharing Australian Government sites that lists grants available.

Before you get started, here are a couple of tips that will help you:

1. Identify your needs and priorities: Before you start looking for grants, it is essential to
identify what kind of projects you want funding for. Make a list of and use that when you
search.
2. Use free search engines: There are several free grant search engines available online such as
Community Grants Hub and GrantConnect.
3. Check your local council’s website: some councils in Australia have partnered up with search
engines providing a free service for organisations located in that council to use their
platform for free.
4. Subscribe to all sites that offer information about grants. I know it is annoying receiving
newsletters all the time, but these newsletters could help you receive grant funding and
grow your operations.

Below is a list of federal grants (in Australia):

I hope this information helps you with finding grants from the Australian Government. It is always a
good idea to check out these sites and subscribe to any newsletter to be the first to know of
upcoming grant opportunities. Stay tuned for our next blog, where I will talk about philanthropic
funding opportunities in Australia.
